The main library Metso
The main library Metso is located in downtown Tampere by the Hämeenpuisto park. The building's futuristic look has been designed by the architects Reima and Raili Pietilä. The building was opened to the public in 1986. It was designed and named after the bird capercaillie, known in Finnish as metso. Materials used in building the main library Metso include for example Rapakivi granite and copper. Location on Map
